Ear Mite
Dogs
Ear Mite
Ear mites are mites
that live in the ears of animals.
Contagion
The problem is very
contagious, and can be transmitted from even brief physical contact with
other animals. Very rarely,
Humans can also be affected.
Consequences of infection
This is often a problem in pets such as
cats and
ferrets, as they cause
inflammatory symptoms, like
bacterial and
yeast
infections. Other, more serious problems can result from untreated
infections, such as
skin disease, deafness,
and seizures.
